San Francisco Zoo
SF Zoo animals are locals, too. And just like us, they’re proud of all the beautiful attractions the city has to offer. So of course, when visiting these sites, taking a selfie is a must. Working closely with the SF Zoo, I created the Animal Selfie Campaign to inspire locals to visit the zoo and increase attendance. We first posted the animal selfies across the zoo’s social media channels, and then reformatted them to be displayed on transit shelters across San Francisco.
Because this project was pro bono, I had the opportunity to play many roles throughout the process. I worked with the zoo’s photographer to capture the animals from a “selfie angle”. Once we had the animal selfies complete, I went across the city and personally photographed the most popular attractions, keeping the angles of the animal portraits and lighting in mind. Then I photoshopped the images together, creating scenes that sparked some pretty hilarious conversations on social media. (Someone actually thought there was a hippo in the bay 😂)
